Trying to find a comfy, durable backpack. Every one I've tried buckles right where my right-side colostomy stoma is. I find the backpack belt too tight and concerned that my very active ileo will blow a gasket. Any experienced backpackers out there?

Hi Godswoman, I would suggest trying each backpack on for a "good fit." It may be like selecting a pair of comfy shoes...you need to try it on. In addition, there are products out there called Stoma Shields or StomaDomes that protect the stoma and allow activity as well. This product may be for you. Just a thought.
