I've been missing you all because life has been big. I have lots of stories we can laugh (or cry) together through. I'm going to post a list of stories. Tell me a story that's happened recently in your "perfect" life. Then pick a story you want me to tell. This should be an amusing, fun, and humbling experience. I can't wait to spill all the tea. We can be human together.

-A bad hair day.

-A really bad hair day.

-A quaint little meth house.

-My birthday twin

-Disfigured and fluffy.

-My 2 bottoms.

-An ultrasound.

-The Cinderella trick.

-My birthday and Mother's Day.

-Demoted?

-96 jars of peanut butter.

-Oh Henry.

-What are you packing?

-Canned pork and dirty eggs.

-Vampiress?

Here we go! 1. Share your not so perfect story, including something beautiful in the chaos. 2. Pick a story you'd like to hear.

I'll also take story requests if anyone has any. I love y'all!

1) What are you packing?.....For about the last year, I've been packing my butt with gauze from my radiation damage. Not fun and dealing with constant dripping wasn't real sexy. Not what you were expecting a guy to pack, huh?

2) Story I'd like to hear.... The 96 jars of peanut butter sounds intriguing.

Alex, you're always making me laugh and overachieving. You picked a story from my list and made it work. You get extra credit. Thank you for sharing. Gotta love packing wounds, especially on your booty. At least you have a wonderful specimen.

96 jars of peanut butter. My mama used to pick up produce and some miscellaneous groceries for free. It's a small co-op that picks up grocery store seconds. Now, my uncle has been bringing me the boxes. Each time is bittersweet because it reminds me of mama. Each time the peanut butter collection grows. In the funk I've been in, I've decided to use the peanut butter. So many batches of no-bake cookies to give away. Muffins, overnight oats, cheerio bars. Even sad, stress baking produces love. Processes hurt. Maybe tomorrow there will be 95 jars.

Here is the definition from the Urban Dictionary: When someone, guy or girl, leaves something of theirs (example: hoodie, earrings, makeup) at your home without telling you so they can come back or have an excuse to come back and visit you.

Nowhere does it say anything about forgetting things. They are left on purpose. &zwj

Sally,

Your story hit home, and I'm so sorry you've been dealing with that scandalous thief of joy. It's amazing how long they can draw out the torture they've opted to inflict. You are pretty incredible, so I understand why he wouldn't want anyone else to have you either. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to take care of you. I can't wait to hear about your next adventure. Growth is always uncomfortable, but rewarding.

The Cinderella Trick-

As fun as being sneaky and leaving my belongings behind sounds, this is a different type of tale. If you've seen Disney's original Cinderella, you may remember a scene between the heroine and Bruno, the dog. He had been dreaming, and Cinderella asked him if he was dreaming about chasing the cat Lucifer. He nodded emphatically, and she questioned him further: "Did you catch him this time"? To which he nodded emphatically again. Then Cinderella admonishes him, saying "That's bad"! This is how my last appointment with my surgeon went. She asked about my activity levels, and I proudly told her everything I've been accomplishing. Cooking dinner, cleaning, and so on. She nodded along, listening intently. Then she asked how sore I've been. I could feel the conversation was shifting at this point. She followed up with "How tired are you getting"? I knew I was in trouble. She had Cinderella tricked me. ‍ I've been instructed to rest more, and count my progress in holidays. Memorial Day doesn't count, so my next big milestone is July 4th. I'm frustrated because I want to speed everything up, and feel amazing. I'm equally grateful to have a caring surgeon that knows me too well. It's okay to slow down and heal.

Hugs healing does take time. But one day you wake up and you just know it's all gonna be okay.

Rae, I'd love to hear your story "An Ultrasound".

Oh girl, I hear you. Obviously, our journeys are different. Going through chemo, and having your life forever changed is a lot to wrap your mind around. I think you're amazing and beautiful. I'm going to tell you the ultrasound story, and disfigured and fluffy. Give me just a sec because I have a crying baby. I'll be right back.

Disfigured and Fluffy-

Part of healing is managing your mental health. As happy as I am that my ileostomy was able to be reversed, I'm battling with what people think. "Oh good, you're back to normal now." "What a relief to be on the last leg of the journey." I am extremely grateful that I was among the minority that is eligible to have their ostomies reversed. It doesn't erase the battle with self-worth. I'm fluffier than I'm comfortable being. My tummy swells in four quadrants, and I'm lumpy in a literal sense. Some days get to be overwhelming. The majority of days I laugh at the absurdity of it all. Battle scars are visible and invisible. I'm grateful for life, and all that my journey has brought me. I also know my journey isn't over.

An Ultrasound-

Just when I was starting to settle into a slower routine medically, my liver enzymes decided to shoot waaaaaay up. My primary doc ordered an ultrasound. Let me tell you, the thrill was almost too much! Before anyone gets too excited, my ultrasound turned out to be fine. My liver is a little fatty, and a teensy bit enlarged. Not uncommon with bowel trauma, and a change in diet. (Less roughage, more simple carbs) Time and a healthy diet should heal her right up. The good news is ultrasounds came in pairs at our house. My daughter is expecting my 7th grand baby in January.
