After having Barbie butt surgery, can anyone suggest ways to change the dressing on your own?

After I got out of the hospital, just a thin Kotex shield to absorb the seepage. I had to visit my surgeon weekly to check the depth of the healing process. Be patient with your healing … it takes some time.
And congratulations… once healed, you'll love your closed butt.

Short review. MAOM has helped me feel better by helping others it made me feel useful, worthy, important. It took my depression away. The more you use the site the more you get out of it.

Don't you have a stoma nurse?

Hi JK, as I recall, I was too sore the first time as I had the total colectomy, so my wife changed it for me. But after a few days, I was able to lay on my side, and with a mirror propped up, I was able to do it myself. It was not easy when both front and back were sore.

I used an abdominal pad and just a piece of tape for a few days. After that, just the abdominal pad in my underwear (the tighter boxer brief style) since I wasn't moving a whole lot worked fine.
