Please be very careful with your back

Posted by joanmarie

I am age 63 Female & had my ileo for 26 years. Who would have thought on 11-19-15, I nearly slipped in the house, but grabbed onto something so I didn't EVEN FALL DOWN, and I broke my back. The lower right side. I have been in a body brace and bone stimulator device ever since & it just won't heal. Lots of drugs for terrible pain that goes down both legs & keeps me awake at night. Can't bend, twist, turn or lift over 10 pounds or even walk my dog!  Am seeing a specialist this week & may have to result to surgery, which I hate the thought of. I don't even have osteoporosis and my docs were shocked that I broke my back. If it can happen to me, I guess it can happen to anyone. I have lost over 50 pounds, which I needed to lose, but have my appetite back now, and continue to lose weight. This broken back crap is no fun, so PLEASE be very careful with your backs. Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. You do not want to go through what I've been going through. Joanmarie

Past Member: Joanmarie, So sorry to hear of your unusual predicament. I think we rarely know for sure just what damage can be done by the most simple common moves. Keep your spirits up and try to remain positive. Good thoughts your way. PEACE

Bill : Hello joanmarie. Thanks for sharing your experience. It is a warning that everyone should take on board. The human body can take all sorts of knocks and recover quickly but sometimes these quirky things happen to show us just how vulnerable we are. I hope things get better for your soon.
Best wishes
