Meet & talk to fellow OstoMates 20,336 members

I was diagnosed with UC in 2000. Then early in 2009, after having not really responded to any drugs, it decided to turn cancerous. So out came the colon and a J-Pouch was constructed in March. I had an ileostomy for three months until reversal/take-down surgery in June.

Whilst it still has its moments, having a J-Pouch is, thus far, an indescribable improvement over 9 years of UC. Things continue to improve and I look forward to a drug-free life that doesn't revolve around the bathroom.

I'm keen to hear from any other J-pouch people out there. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to swap stories, compare notes or just to talk about anything.
