I like people. I like animals too. There are many and varied things that I enjoy. Being outdoors, slow water kayaking, hiking, gardening and growing my own food, walking, snow shoeing, exploring new places, dinner with friends, art, a good game of cards and a quiet night at home. I think life can be more fun with friends and a partner.

I have ulcerative colitis and have had it most of my life. UC and me go back to a point in time when the medical community didn't seem to know much about the disease let alone diagnose or treat it. I was lucky in that a wonderful, knowledgeable and actually quite famous GI doctor (which is how I learned of him) at a teaching hospital saved my life one Saturday morning from bleeding out. It was the first of many challenging and harrowing times in my life with UC. This disease has multiple serious and difficult complications many of which I know first hand. As of today I still have my colon though it is not functioning well. I have been working through medical evaluation for potential treatmeent options including colectomy. And that is how I found my way here.
