About
My name is Sarah and back in 2012 my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which led to me being tested. I was diagnosed with FAP (the worst case my team of surgeon’s has seen in 40 years) while I don’t have cancer I’ve been fighting to stay alive ever since but I’m battling everything on my own after my mother’s passing last summer. I had my first colectomy in 2017 and Have had many complications. I had my second colectomy a couple months later and ever since it’s been constant surgery for blockages, hernia repair etc. I was told that if I didn’t have the ileostomy within a year than my chance of colon cancer was still 95% so I had my ileostomy on 6/3/19 and I’ve had nothing but complications ever since. I ended up requiring two additional surgeries and finally got to home from the hospital on 7/4/19. After much difficulty my health is finally starting to slowly improve.
