I have had my ileostomy since December 2006, I am very open about this and am willing to talk about it to anyone, I know before I had my surgery, I did not know a whole lot and had to ask most of my questions to health care professionals...which is why I am so open now, I think that if I can help someone just starting to go through this, it may make the transition a little easier, knowing that they should not feel so alone.

I live in Northern Labrador in Canada's north...long cold winters, but such beautiful vehicles during the winter months only snowmobile, there are a scattered dog team around.....the only way in to the community in the winter is by twin otter we are isolated.

I have learned to live with this and I know it has given me a better healthier life, but I do not like bit.....I feel like a freak.....I know that people say to me all the should be glad you are well.....I am glad, it just does not stop the feelings I have about it.

Feel free to contact me for a chat....thank you.
