About
I’m sixty (though I think I’m seventeen), 5 ft 9 inches, and pretty acceptable to look at, given the ravages of time. For instance, my hair isn’t as luxuriant as it was at seventeen. I’ve been separated for three years now, but I’m over it and I’m carrying no baggage.

I’m a self employed business consultant. I intended to retire this year, but when the markets crashed I thought it would make sense to hang in there until they returned to normal, and then start spending the pension savings. I also still teach my beloved classics: once a year at an Open University summer school, along with other odds and sods that come along. Then there’s bits of journalism and reviewing, and some broadcasting, but much less now than there used to be. I also do some lecturing on cruises- just back from a tour of North Africa and the southern Mediterranean- but it’s just luck if that comes along or not. But I’m far from being a stuffy academic. In fact, I’m after squeezing all the laughs out of life that I can.

I’m on this site because there’s still too much good living to be done, and too much fun to be had, before I turn into a pair of shuffling carpet slippers. And I feel that the fun of most things is doubled when you share them. I’m happy in town and country, love the seaside and swimming, cinema, theatre (I’m into amateur dramatics), and music (all sorts, from Bach to the blues. In fact I play blues bottle-neck guitar). I also love gardening.
