I'm a stage 3 metastatic bi-lateral breast cancer survivor. I went septic after my first chemo. I almost left this world. I was in the hospital for 9 months straight. Between hospital and rehab, I have been in a structured nursing facility for two years. I finally ready for discharge. My girlfriend left me telling me it was too hard on her dealing with cancer. She sold everything I had because she thought I would die.
Oh well, I'm a 56 yr old lesbian. I have a Master's in education. Post graduate in psychology. My focus has always been children with disabilities. I'm now searching for an apartment in Richmond to start my new normal. I have no idea what my life will look like. Starting over is scary . I feel like a freak. I have no breasts, an ilestomy, and partial removal of my left foot above the knuckle and 5th toe. I always thought I was pretty, but I'm scared.
