About
Hi all. I had a rare location for the type of cancer I had. It was a malignant melanoma in the rectum. Had surgery in April 2020. They removed my rectum and stuck a bag on my side. Was having a hard time accepting it. Could only think of what everyone would think of me and my appearance. Then on top of that my intestines slid down to fill the void that I now had where my rectum was. Ended up with a hernia that was the size of a grapefruit where my rectum was supposed to be. It was like trying to sit on a grapefruit and I could feel my intestines moving around when I would go to sit. So I had another surgery in July 2020 to put my intestines back in place and had a plastic surgeon take a stomach muscle and use as a plug to keep them in place. Plus was talking treatments. I took Yervoy. At this time I am now cancer free.
