Hello,

I've been dealing with my ostomy for just over two years. Definitely trial and error along the way. Trying different appliances different brands hernia belts powders barriers too much to wrap my head around some days.

At any rate here I am... becoming a professional at handling my ostomy. Yet... I still have obstacles!

I developed a slow growing hernia... which I now need repaired. In the mean time my barriers and waffers just don't last. Did I mention all this started over twenty years ago.

Yes... I was diagnosed with Chrons Disease back in 2000. Which happened to get severe in my rectal area in 2010. This lead to numerous surgeries to drain abscesses and to repair fistulas.

At any rate... I'm currently dealing with a seton in my rectum and a hernia at my stoma site. On top of that I get ingrown hairs just about everywhere. However... If they happen to be underneath my appliance a crater forms. This cause more medical attention and another reason for the appliance to fall off.

Medical insurance is craziness... they only cover so much! My out of pocket expenses are driving me nuts!

However... I'm sure I'm not alone 🙈
