I've had an ileostomy for about 20yrs, (my second stoma after the reversal of the first one didn't last longer than about 7 yrs). Underlying condition: Crohn's disease. I've forgotten about more operations than I can remember, although happily I've been in clinical remission for a number of years due to an amazing consultant and surgeon and the advancement of maintenance therapies (I'm on vedolizumab).
Joined this group for the sense of community and commonality; and the potential to offer support / reassurance to others.
