I have travelled around the world, which took 3 years, many years ago. Now I live in a leafy semi-rural part of England near London. I have a husband and 3 cats. We have a large garden backing onto a nature reserve. I am interested in animal welfare.

I am just a boring retired woman who had an accident last year and ended up with ruptured intestines! The site of the rupture was where my small intestine had been joined to my sigmoid colon in 1982 when most of my colon and some of my small intestine was removed due to Crohn's Disease.

I never dreamed that my worst nightmare would come true many, many years later and I would end up with an ileostomy! OK, so it is supposed to be reversible, but when they tell you the chance of dying during the reversal operation is very high, it kind of puts you off doing it!

I am just interested in hearing about how other people put up with this disability.
