Since being diagnosed with cancer, I have experienced a massive shift in personality, outlook, and lifestyle. I am increasingly drawn to spirituality and New Age alternative healing practices and have tried several including hypnotherapy, cranio sacral balancing, reiki, crystal healing, aura reading, angel channelling, reflexology, accupunture, sun gazing, naturopathy, homeopathy, theta healing, art therapy, etc. I believe doing things that give you pleasure and make you happy is incredibly healing also, so I love cooking, painting, reading, and yoga.

I was diagnosed with Stage III Ovarian cancer in August 2010, and went in for immediate tumour debulking surgery. Complications arose from this surgery, I developed Septecaemia, and as a result was given a Colostomy for 8 months. I have responded very well to my cancer treatment, which included aggressive chemotherapy, and am currently cancer-free. I have managed to adjust over these last several months to living with my colostomy. Having said that, I am looking forward to my reversal surgery which is scheduled for May 2011. I am looking forward to meeting/chatting with others who live with colostomies, temporary or permanent, and share stories - the good, the bad, the ugly! I simply love this site, and have received tremendous advice, tips and help just by reading the forum posts regularly.
