About
My nickname comes from the book "Strong at the Broken Places" by Richard M. Cohen (Meredith Vieira's husband). The title comes from a Hemingway classic "A Farewell To Arms". The partial quote reads:"The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places."
I have been dealing with Crohn's/Ileitis for 32 years now and have had an ileostomy since '93. The last word I would use to describe myself is 'Ostomate', but here I am. It would be nice to have someone to talk to and share what life is really like when no one else is around. Whatever evolves above and beyond that, is an open book.

For over 30 years now most people I've met never find out about the chronic me. They know most everything else but very few know that side of me. The few people who do know that side of me are precious and few. My motto in life is simply Life is Good. I prefer to surround myself with good people who appreciate all that life has to offer and refuse to allow something like chronic disease to define them. There's only one thing missing...a kindred soul who understands what life is like behind the scenes.
