A Stoma What?

Hello my baggy friends. I spent the whole day at the hospital on Saturday, rushed by ambulance due to severe pain. I thought I had a bad blockage, but it turns out that from lugging tables down 2 flights of stairs the night before, I pulled the stomach muscles that did damage to my stoma. Now, the doctor at the outpatient mentioned to me about a stoma extension. Is there such a thing, or was I too stoned on painkillers and misunderstood?

Hi Myziy.. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Unfortunately, I have never heard about this. Did you try the on-site ostomy nurse? Maybe she could educate all of us.

Hang in there! And no more lifting tables, ok?

Thank you Suziq. It goes with the job. I've been there too long to leave, and it has Blue Cross. I just have to put up with the crap. It's either gonna kill me or disable me. I really don't have a choice, but thanks for your support.

Miyzy,

I lifted the world from every angle you can imagine. I never had a problem with hernias or "extending" the stoma.

I guess if a person were really flexing their stomach muscles, it could put a squeeze on their stoma. It never happened to me. I used to do sit-ups with the stoma. Lots of push-ups.

Stop and think about it for a second. For a guy, making love with a stoma does not seem to be problematic as far as I have ever heard. Well, other than finding a partner, this is.
