So, I had a leak again in the middle of the night. Again, it was the top part of the flange opening. The ring that is supposed to help prevent leaks is not working. Don't know what to do.

Sometimes it's hard to stay positive when the situation seems hopeless. Have faith, you can manage this thing, but it will require that you address the problem on all fronts. There are three areas that you must consider.

1: The products that you use to get a reliable seal, the pouch, skin prep, flange, and ring/paste.

2: The prep of the area to receive the pouch/flange.

3: What, when, and how much you eat.

Each ostomate must juggle these three areas till they find a combo that works reliably for them, as everyone is different. If one thing doesn't work....TRY SOMETHING ELSE. You can start by telling us what you are currently doing, give us every detail and perhaps we can spot a problem.

Please read the last reply to this attached thread, here is someone who explains in great detail how to get a reliable seal.    I can assure you that this is the result of carefully considering the problem, and probably took many tries till they arrived at the solution. Good luck....keep us posted as to your progress.
