Hi,

Interesting. I have 10 cm of rectum and lost 15 cm of colon. Also, I developed a parastomal hernia - surgeons said it would be fixed during the reversal...which I haven't had after 15 months with a stoma (was supposed to be for 3-4 months only). My situation is complicated by the fact that I have Arachnoiditis (which was treated with narcotics - which led to fecalomas that caused a 5 cm colon perforation+peritonitis and emergency surgery). So, I don't know what to do because narcotics (and constipation) will accompany me for the rest of my life. By the end of April, I hope to know more because I have appointments with a surgeon, gastroenterologist, and pain specialist. We'll see...

Thanks for the reply, Violeta. Good luck for your appointment in April. It can be hard to know what to do when you are not an expert in the field. Get opinions from people with different approaches, maybe.
