I have had a colostomy for 25 years now and for the last 2 to 3 years, I have noticed blood spots in my rectal discharge. Lately, however, more blood is showing up. I also have a stoma lately that mostly protrudes about 3 to 4 inches past my herniated belly. Anybody else having these symptoms by chance? Should I just go to Emerg to get a few tests or wait until I MIGHT be contacted by a specialist? Any help here would be of serious value.

An increase in blood showing in the rectal dischard should be something to be sufficiently concerned about to seek professional medical advice about, sooner rather than later.

Best wishes
