I am 4 weeks after surgery. Still trying samples though stuck with Hollister for the month from supplies. I have some stinging at the outside of my colostomy by the stitches. Anything to do for relief. Is this normal?

Hiya,

Wipe/wash etc., gently (your stoma will bleed easily), dry with

soft absorbent tissues and use a skin barrier protection around your

stoma edge. It gives like a thin 'plastic' film to stop 'stuff' getting to your skin.

Look up Cavilon Barrier Film 3344.

Best wishes,

Steve

Also, you can try compound Benzoin tincture. It's a skin protection and the cost is cheap. You can apply it with a Q-tip and it goes a long, long way. You can buy it at Walgreens or probably most drug stores can get it for you if you ask. They got mine in the next day.
