Well..... my 66th birthday is coming up this Sunday. So what does a soon-to-be laid-off ostomate do?????

VEGAS!!!

After a nice early morning drive from Beachbum HQ... Treasure Island Resort Hotel is my new fun spot. I'm on the 35th floor with a sweeping view of the Strip. Across the street is the excellent Venetian, where I'm now enjoying a fine Italian dinner with Ms. Beachboy........ (or is that gal or girl?).

More to come.....

You will have to sell your body parts to pay for this one, BB. Happy birthday, mate. Regards, Iggie.

Happy early from all of us! Put 50 cents in the flip-it machine for us, if they still have them.

Happy birthday, Beachboy. Remember, most of the slot machines are cherry 🍒 cherry 🍒 bell 🔔, so don't waste your money 💰 xx

Not sure what body parts you would be referring to… At 66, they are somewhat “used.” Resale value would be at a reduced rate for sure. Then there is that stoma—who would even buy a new one, let alone a used one? Well, maybe so… As the saying goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Hi Iggie!

I do have a few unneeded body parts. All superseded by a wafer/bag.

Maybe auction them off on eBay.

To the highest bidder: 1 slightly used anus, rectum, and sphincter. Excellent conversation piece for your game room. Sold as is. Buyer pays shipping costs.

Then again... maybe not.

Aries... the Ram... good people.

If you're cutting loose... don't cut the cheese, huh? 😆 (a.k.a. burping bag you're so fond of doing)

Happy Birthday, Dan... Enjoy yourself.

Never too old to par-tay...

Didn't find any flip machines. Casinos have lots of computerized video slot machines and a few older 3-reel mechanical slots. Didn't see anyone winning any big jackpots. I donated a few $20s. Remember, Vegas wasn't built on winners.

Well... a few Hollister bags will remain. 😁

Last night after dinner, we went for a stroll and happened upon a Ghirardelli chocolate shop. Even though Ms. Beachboy had just polished off some gelato, she bellied up to the counter and ordered a hot fudge sundae with extra fudge. Being somewhat more refined, I demurred getting anything.

We sat at a counter, in the middle of a crowd, where Ms. Beachgal attacked the sundae with gusto. After a few minutes of watching her spirited spoon play, I noticed my bag was blown up like a balloon. It seemed ready to blow! What to do? Surreptitiously burp the beast and cause a stampede? Or wait till Ms. Beachperson finished devouring the sundae, risking a bag blow and an even more chaotic stampede? I slowly got up, my bag pushing my shirt out, and gingerly hobbled out the door. Finding a nearby building corner, I burped, wiped the tears from my stinging eyes, and returned to a very happy Ms. Beachgirl. Gotta be tough to be an Ostomymate.

We are now in the Venetian Theater. Getting ready for the B-52s. A nice, somewhat small theater with cantilever seating for excellent viewing.

I'm wearing my Nu-Hope support belt with prolapse strap. Nicely reduces my "bulge" under my B-52's shirt.

Happy Birthday to you, Beach boy! Have a great time. The dragons will drag you into playing them but usually don't win. The older machines don't have all the bells and whistles but pay better.

We haven't been to Vegas since the late '70s when we worked at Death Valley. I was always lucky back then!

The B-52's at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas.

It was an excellent concert. Over the last 40 years, I've seen their shows many times. A guy named DJ Cumberbund was the opening act with music video "mash-up" compilations. It was a bit out of place because the audience was mostly older people. My wife thought it was a waste of time.

Finally, the B-52's took the stage with a spirited rendition of "Planet Claire." Now senior citizens, Kate, Cindy, and Fred can still rock the house. At the end of the night, they closed with the original version of "Rock Lobster." The concert was a little short, with many fans expecting and screaming for more songs. But old age takes its toll on us all.

I did some research about modern, computerized gambling machines. A random number generator is used to provide the outcome for each "pull of the handle." So the old tips about finding a loose slot machine no longer apply.

These days, like state lotteries, there are larger slot machine jackpots. As a result, there are far fewer smaller payouts.

On this trip, I played older 3-reel mechanical slots and the newest 1-cent video machines. $20 will last about 5 minutes on each. I only won a few very small payouts.

We used to enjoy playing the old mechanical horse race game, where many people could play at once. The little horses ran around the track while everyone cheered. But these types of games have disappeared.

Casinos now have automated roulette, blackjack, and craps machines with an animated video "person" running the game. I'm thinking this is the next "wave" of innovation. Powered by artificial intelligence software, casinos can employ fewer human dealers, pit bosses, security guards, etc. Instead of real "chips," there will be virtual chips.

The switch many years ago from coin-operated slot machines eliminated thousands of jobs. I'm sure this trend will continue.

Remember to have a gambling budget. Once you lose that, walk away. My budget was $120.

Hi Dexie,

I'm having a great time. Walking along the "strip" is a real adventure. There are street performers everywhere trying to attract a crowd and donations. Young gals dressed like showgirls offering photo opportunities to pose with tourists. The temperature is around 85 degrees with cloudless blue skies and excellent visibility.

Hello 7dragonflies!

I'm happy to be healthy and mobile. Every morning when I wake up, and everything works, it's a great day.

Tomorrow I'll be 66. Wow. Time flies when you're having fun.

Cheers!

Hi J🙂,

Nobody beats the King: Elvis.

I'm having an excellent extended birthday weekend in "sin" city. At my age, the only bad thing I do is eat too much ice cream. Speaking of which, I had a scoop of luscious chocolate gelato last night. Yummmmmmy.

Hi MoeMoe,

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I've been fortunate to recover from my medical adventure 15 months ago. Back then I wished I could "get my life" back. And by the grace of God, I have. All my online friends here on MaO helped me. Bless all of you.
