About
Hello, I got my Ileostomy on the 18th Aug 2021, so really new but coping well. I had my colon removed in 2004 and got a J-Pouch but I had 17 years of problems so i decided to go for the Ileostomy. Best decision, I should have done it years ago. Unfortunately I have just found out I have Cancer of my right Kidney and will be dealing with that as well.
In Aug 2022 I was diagnosed with a Parastomal Hernia and had it operated on and at the same time I had 1/3 of my right kidney removed because of cancer. It all went well except the Surgeon changed my stoma from a perfect one to a very flat one and I have already had a few leaks. I will persevere for some time and if things don't get better I will try to have it improved. It is still better than Ulcerated Colitis which is what killed my father.
