Ostomy Memories of Words

This is a great community. Consider joining.

A COMMON DICTUM TOSSED ABOUT these days is that ‘words matter.’ Too many celebrities and people in public life fail to realize this simple truism. Either their mouth engages before their brain fully participates, or their brain is dysfunctional, or they simple couldn’t care less and toss out whatever occurs to them without considering the full impact their words might have on others. Specificity is usually a good thing, unless the speaker is purposely trying to avoid the full potential impact of what he is saying. Vagueness can be a cover for obscure intentions. But sometimes, playing coy can come back to haunt a person who is purposely being unresponsive to inquiry. Take one particular defendant who was unhappy having to appear in court and decided to be evasive with the judge. J: ‘Where do you work?’ D: ‘Here and there.’ J: ‘What do you do for a living?’ D: ‘This and that.’ J: ‘I remand you to custody. Take him away.’ D: ‘Wait. When do I get out?’ J: ‘Sooner or later.’

These are the top 5 issues ostomates face:

1. Dating and relationships
2. Concealing the pouch
3. Foods to eat and avoid
4. Losing or gaining weight
5. Pouch ballooning
