Hello ayalahugo.
Thank you for your post. This has been a subject that has occupied my time and rhyme on many occasions in the past. There is now right or wrong answer to the questions surrounding 'what is love?' but the concept is obviously percieved by different people in different ways.
One of my previous rhymes expressed the view that "I don't want to 'fall' in love" meaning that I am not a fan of the emotional upheaval involved. However, your post has motivated me to put pen to paper again and express similar thoughts in a slightly different way - and I thank you for that motivation.

SEARCHING FOR LOVE?
Searching for love’s like panning for gold
some people do this ‘till they are old,
and I can see the reason why
these people continue to try.
But some may use the wrong technique
to find that precious thing they seek,
and other’s find, so I am told,
what turns out to be fool’s gold.
I do not think these folk are wrong
to be looking for so long,
but unlike gold, love, I supposed
was much more complexly composed.
I believe love can be grown
from small seeds that can be sown,
and nurtured ‘till they grow up tall,
unlike that love, where folks will ‘fall’.
So what are the conditions where
a love can grow and people share?
and what would be the circumstances
to improve a lover’s chances?
I would think a lot of kindness
and straightforward friendliness,
would be a good foundation for
a relationship and more.
I’d also think that being ‘there’
and genuinely giving care,
would be a good place to start
to warm the cockles of the heart.
Many’ kind’ things might contribute.
to lay foundations and a route
towards a love likely to last,
without the gambling of the past.
