I think we all agree this is a pretty awesome forum. And I bet we all have one post stuck in our heads that is what you think of first when you think of this place. The one topic that hit home and you can't forget. I'm curious to hear which post it was for you.

For me I actually have 2.........a serious one and a funny one. The one that drew me to this forum.......or maybe I should say made me want to belong to this group........was one of the very first posts I read after finding this place. I kid you not..........but someone posted this question.......and I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact words......but this is close......."Does your partner mind your bag hitting her in the forehead when she's giving you a blowjob?"Yeah, I'm serious. That one popped up while I was exploring this site for the first time and I immediately thought that dude is gonna get his ass kicked off of here, sure as shit. But I came back a few minutes later.......and rather than being expelled........there were 3 or 4 serious replies!!!I read those and I was like..........oh, "I'm IN....this place is for me!!"And whenever I think of this forum that post pops right into my head!!

The other one I always remember regarded someone suggesting we all make sure when we put our used ostomy products in the trash that there's no holes for animals to get get caught in either in the landfill or the ocean. I mean....what a way to die!So now I make sure I cut up my old barrier, bag, and the plastic ring covering circles before I throw any of it away............and I remember that post!!

So those are my two...........what's your one (or two) that you always remember about this place??

I read that 1st post you mentioned, it was hilarious. I'm not sure why I refrain from saying some things. No idea which posts stick out to me but as I scrolled thru peoples' profiles, I thought I could hang with these cool cats and learn something. Of course, seeing beautiful women helped too.

Hello Bob.

I must admit that when I first started reading this post I felt sure that there were no particular posts that seemed any more significant than any others. However, as your second example reminded me about the cutting of rings and things to safeguard wildlife, I must admit that after reading it, I did begin to regularly take that advice so, I suppose that was one that did influence me to change my routine. Another one that I regularly recall was 'Gratitude'. This was not because of the rhyme that started it off, but the somewhat extended and fascinating correspondence that it generated.

Best wishes

Bill

My favourite post is from the archives 2010 in Just For Laughs, nothing to do with an ostomy, but it still makes me laugh out loud and fondly remember some of the original members who used to post here.

Hey Leprechaun!Good to hear from you........hope all is well. Regarding the posts on here, it really just took me by surprise how candid folks can be when it comes to our health. I was totally blind-sided by that, and that Swinging Baggie post just knocked me out of my chair. But it was good to see we could just put shit out there on the forum and not have to candy-coat things and beat around the bush. It was as refreshing as it was hilarious!I wonder if the poster meant it that way, or was just asking the only way he knew how. Regardless, I'm glad he posted it, as it's what cemented me to this place. Have a good trip and wave as you fly over!

I can't think of one or two posts in particular but being welcomed as I was made me feel more open to discuss my ileostomy and pretty much anything else I wanted to talk about.
Members like Henry, Sally, Alex, Jo, Caz, Magoo et al. With a mix of humor and serious got me out of the hole I was in at the time and have fallen back into many times.
The kindness of others here have brightened me up on my dark days.

I haven't been as active lately but I do lurk and read posts.

There's an old saying that "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one". I'm sure that there is more than one of us here that beg to differ!
