My dog in the picture hasn’t worked a day in his 3 y/o life haha. I’ve been hoping once I get more energy back I can get him trained to be a therapy dog. He loves people. Right now he’s my therapy though and he’s stuck with me 😃

Terry, I started this message to you earlier in the day and who knows with me and my adhd what happened to it haha. But I think you’d love my Bear. He was found in a dumpster in a car wash in San Antonio with umbilical cord still attached with his sister. As soon as I read his story and saw his eyes I was like he’s meant to be mine. His sister ended up with a family in the Boston area and her owner and I keep in touch on Facebook. I just did a DNA test on him because without ever seeing either parent it was everyone’s best guesses. His main breed mix is Great Pyrenees.

Oh, I'm sure I would love Bear!  Our girl Kacey was a rescue too, although, we didn't get any history on her.  We were just told she was a 'northern dog', meaning probably from the Yukon, or somewhere in northern B.C.  Lots of big dogs up there, huskies, malamutes, and lots of wolf DNA!  She was picked up as a stray, so no history on her, but very underweight.  We did a DNA test on her, and it came back as mostly German Shepherd, but some Jindo, which is a South Korean breed of hunting, guarding, dog. We could really see that in her personality.  So happy for Bear that you guys found each other!

I’ll have to see if I can find the first picture I saw of him… his eyes really spoke to me. We lost our almost 15 y/o husky mix in October. She was a butt when she was younger… always running away, but she was the best when I was pregnant and my kids were babies. She was stubborn til her last breath and as much as she and I butted heads over the years I was so proud of that stubbornness lol. I had talked about getting a Malamute but then I decided I wanted a Malinois mix and that was how our current 3rd dog ended up being crazy Mali 🤣

OMG, that is just the sweetest face!  I love malamutes and malinois too.  I know what you mean about stubborn.  Kacey was very independent and very stubborn too.  Very smart, but training was not easy, as she didn't want to do anything unless there was something in it for her, ie, food.  Whoever said dogs just want to please their owners, had never met Kacey!

I’d never had a connection to a dog like I do to him without meeting first but his eyes and story… I was hook, line and sink her (yes that was on purpose). And I’ve adopted 2 other dogs from the same rescue but I had more reservations and should I/shouldn’t I? With him there was no second thought.  A lot of people thought I was crazy b/c when I adopted Mali she was #4 since my husky was still alive. Some women like diamonds, I like dogs lol.
Did Kacey have a favorite person like a a lot of shepherds do?
