DRUG TAKING.

Take this drug, take that drug.

Then why not take some more.

You could make us rich and smug.

Yet never break the law.

I will prescribe the drugs for you.

I feel it is my role.

And I will tell you what to do.

Sometimes I might cajole.

For I think you’re ill you see.

Even if you’re not.

Here are the drugs they give to me.

It’s all that I have got.

When people enter through my door.

It’s what they want and get.

They start on drugs, then ask for more.

And that’s just what they get.

Long ago I’d talk to you.

And help you manage pain.

Now I prescribe these drugs of mine.

Time and time again.

For me this is the easy route.

I need not think too much.

I just prescribe another drug.

Which acts just like a crutch.

You’ll not get better from these drugs.

And might get hooked on them.

For once you catch the drugging bug.

Addiction then will stem.

This is the way we do things now.

There is no caring role.

We want you all to cow and bow.

To only our control.

If we control the drugs you take.

For body and for mind.

Your rebellious will will break.

Another slave we’ll bind.

Hi Bill, that was brilliant. It describes everything about meds. If only our bodies could regrow parts when they go wrong, probably wouldn't need the drugs... tc ambies...

Hello Ambies,Thanks for the comment. It is my firm belief that the human body is so amazing that it can mend most (but not all) things on its own. However, most humans are impatient and want quick fixes. So they rush in with all sorts of 'cures' which make things worse than they would otherwise have been. Then there are all those financial predators who love to make a fast buck out of 'selling false hopes' those who are willing to 'pay' for the 'cure' that maybe isn't even appropriate or available. Most things in life need 'managing'- there are very few 'cures. Best wishes Bill
