INVISIBLE PAIN!

A question I would ask is why

pain’s not apparent to the eye?

Maybe we can see the signs

within demeanour’s steep declines.

But yet we cannot see the pain

that we get time and again.

It seems to be invisible

and therefore not cognizable.

Our pain is felt so deep inside

that from all others it can hide.

So other people may not see

all the pain that swells in me.

I find it mildly quizzical

when pain's no longerphysical.

For very often I will find

some of the pain is in my mind.

This type of pain tends to perplex

as it’s confusing and complex.

Especially when it’s in the mix

with all those pains we cannot fix.

There are moments humans can

seem so cruel to fellow man.

Their insight’s mighty primitive

and they are quite insensitive.

It seems that humans have evolved

so they don’t want to be involved.

They have developed a belief

that means avoiding pain and grief.

So sometimes they will say and do

some horrid things to me and you.

When this exasperates your brain

then it exacerbates the pain.

Hello Tamarah. Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement. Debra's post was particularly pertinent in illuminating some of the emotional elements that sometimes get lost in the struggle to survive on a daily basis. The replies to her post from others also highlight the relevance of the opportunities to vent-a-rant with people who understyand the nature of the subject matter. It also points up the tremendous support that a site such as this can offer to those who might otherwise be socially isolated even amongst their own family and friends. I only hope that my rhyming verses can contribute positively to the discussions and be of some small use to some of the readers. Best wishes Bill
