Happy Easter y'all!  Mean mom recanted and the kids got to have their Easter baskets, I just didn’t tell them they’d been sitting on the front porch for hours before they decided to apologize.

Want me to send some potatoes since I chose to do the more difficult way and not the easy way you suggested? 🤣

Alishia, can we please find out at what age it’s acceptable to stop making Easter baskets for our kids? Your daughter is about a year older than my oldest, so if you stop first i can say my friend said this is the age we stop 😆

Yes, I tried to make boxed ones one time and it turned out like paste so now I go the real route. The easier it is to make something, the easier for me to screw it up apparently.

My Mom put out Easter baskets for me and my bro right up until she died 2 years ago.  And I don't think I've ever been home for Easter in the past 35 years.  I guess you keep putting them out until it doesn't make you feel good anymore.  It's definitely a 'Mom' thing!

Your kids have really weird faces!  Have you taken them to a doctor to have them looked at? Your daughter is looking a bit pale and spotty and your son is a bit yellow.....no?

Glad you recanted, gave then the baskets and made a memory! That's what it's all about.

If you had a different type phone I could show you what their faces look like, but you refuse smartphones. Idk who could be creeping on here, I'm not showing my babies' faces even though my son is bigger than me now. My daughter did refuse to smile in almost every picture today, and my son swears his eyes aren't closed in almost every picture, but it looks like they are. He zoomed in and said look mom! they're open! It's a stretch to say they're open. This picture where I covered up their faces was actually one of the few good ones from today. Last time I did hearts, this time easter eggs, next month...Idk what goes with May

I think the standard your Mom set will put me to shame unless my kids keep asking then I know I'll do something.  It doesn't help my mom ships them something for V-day and Easter still...she may send my husband and I a gc to a restaurant...so not an Easter basket but she does something still I guess. I remember trying to convince her one year I still believed in the tooth fairy to see if I could get $ but back then the tooth fairy was a lot cheaper than it is now. When my daughter lost a tooth at Disney they made a huge deal out of it. It made me want to lose a tooth there.

April showers bring May FLOWERS.  That's what goes with May.

I have found with boxed potatoes (au gratin or scalloped), sometimes it helps to bake them at a lower temp than the box recommends, otherwise if you're not keeping a close eye on them the sauce cooks down to nothing

I'm sure even after it's known that my daughter no longer "believes" I will still "assist" the Easter Bunny and Santa alike.... right now I'm holding onto the innocence and magic that said belief brings. Bob, your mom must have been one helluva woman to keep it going for so long, while you said it's been 2 years since her passing,  my condolences go out to you, because nothing beats a momma's love....

Or shall I edit that to say "nothing beats the love of a good momma"....
