DELIVERIES.

‘Deliveries’ in these modern times
has prompted me to write some rhymes
to express frustration where
the system doesn’t work or care.

I’m sure you know just what I mean
when postal services have been
less than efficient or competent
which leaves us feeling discontent.

Especially with my medical stuff
which, when it doesn’t come’s enough
to raise my angst and frustrations
to the point of palpitations.

They surely know that we rely
on a reliable supply
of medicines and equipment to
help us through each day anew.

I don’t believe it’s a great feat
to be on time, but also complete.
It’s annoying and frustrating
waiting and anticipating.

Leaving complaining to the last
has been my routine in the past,
but when my mind has been reflective
I think that this is not effective.

How the hell can we survive
if this stuff does not arrive
on time, complete, and without fuss,
so we’ve no need to curse or cuss.

Surely, it’s not too much to ask
delivery firms to do this task
with some competence and skill
so that we do not get ill.

Bill, I order my supplies in plenty of time, but I do get a little anxious each time praying they won't get to the wrong address or porch pirates snatching.

Hi Morning Glory, I've had the same worry about porch pirates, although I'd love to see their face when they open up my package and see what they scored! (WTF is this??) I order my supplies online and the delivery service lets me pick them up at their warehouse which is only a ten-minute drive from home, so problem solved.

I totally understand this because I have to order supplies when my insurance will pay for them, and then I have to hope I have enough to last until the company can send the supplies through the mail. And they come from another place, not my town. That's why I asked my doctor to prescribe enough so that I wouldn't be at the end of my supplies while waiting for the next box to come. It can be a frustrating process.

Hi Terry, I wish that I had the option for pick up. My insurance has limited places they will cover. Shipping is my only choice.

I didn't think I had the option either, but I called the courier service and asked them if it was possible to pick it up locally, and it was. Might be worth a call?
