I was at the doctor on Friday and I was basically begging him to do something regarding my nutrition and I got nowhere. I'm at a whopping 98lbs and very low in iron, which means zero energy. He asked me, "What do you want me to do for you?" I said, "Get me iron shots, put me in the hospital for Nutrition IV infusions, get me in touch with a nutritionist"...he told me...are you ready for this? ...."I'm not considered malnourished enough to be considered for infusions." I simply said, "How much more weight do I need to lose before I fit the bill? I can drop another 10lbs in 3 days."
Needless to say, I went and got a children's liquid iron "Fer-Ia" Sol. I took 2 tablespoons (as per directions) and within 30 minutes of taking it, I felt sick. And I don't mean yucky sick, I mean throw up, fever, stomach cramps sick. I went to bed and spent the entire beautiful Saturday in bed, hurting and feeling like crap.
I'm in the Toronto area and would like some suggestions to take to my doctor. Names of nutritionists I can print up and throw on his desk and say, "Get me in touch with these people!!"
Any suggestions would be a help since everything I've suggested isn't getting through to him.
Thanks
