I figured I would give this site a try since I think it would be fun to meet people with similar backgrounds. I was born with a birth defect and had my ostomy surgery at 1 day old. I have had a completely normal life (high school sports & music, college). I think people might not understand surgery can give us a second chance at life...hopefully everyone will feel a little less "unique" here.

I currently teach at a college. I recently went hang-gliding and regularly water/snow ski. I am hoping to try Aikido in a couple months :) I also like Thai food, craft beers, and locally sourced restaurants. I mainly watch old movies (before 1960).

Sometimes I wish I could help others dealing with ostomy challenges as I have 30 years experience! I hope everyone has had a positive experience with their ostomy.
