About
I would like to speak to anyone who has a permanent stoma or a reversal, particularly a Hartmanns procedure and whether they have had a reversal of their Hartmanns. I have been told it is not favourable for me to have a reversal as I had radiotherapy and sepsis prior to the Hartmanns and this may cause the function after reversal to be poor. Has anyone else been through this? I am totally cancer free and did not need any more chemo after the initial tumour was removed 18 months ago. I am otherwise healthy. I cope well with the stoma and have never had sore skin but miss a more varied diet as it can be painful to pass gritty bits.
Do surgeons always give you the worst scenario to put you off having a reversal?
