I was diagnosed at the age of 13 with Crohn's Disease. At the age of 18, I was on my death bed, weighing 70 lbs. Emergency surgery was required and I got a colostomy out of it. 3 major surgeries and 28+ years later I now have an illeostomy. It has been 12 years since my total colectomy, and my overall health has been great. I have been able to gain weight and eat pretty much what I want - with certain limitations of certain products. I am able to be completely mobile for work and any type of sporting I choose to do. I have played basketball, floor hockey, softball and bowling and have ran/walked a half marathon to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Not that I am in shape to do much of those things right now, but am hoping to get into some type of exercise routine again with an exercise bike and looking at some type of martial arts to try (which is how I found this site). You can hit me up at 2hotscot at gmail dot com.

Not looking for anything out of this web site per se, but wouldn't shy away from meeting up with or talking to new people, especially as a veteran in the ostomy department where I can give advice and tips if anyone asks.
