About
My name is Rachel, or Rae for those that I haven't met yet. I had surgery in August of 2021 to remove masses caused by endometriosis. During my first robotic procedure a mass was removed from my colon, causing a tear. Unfortunately the mistake wasn't caught, and I landed in ER three days later. I had 3 open abdominal surgeries during my 2 week hospital stay. I got to do all the fun things like an NG tube, ventilator, catheter, epidural, central line, and a million blood draws. I had a loop ileostomy for 8 months following surgery. It was a huge learning curve, and I laughed a lot. I cried some too. Haha. I also traveled, swam, and lived life as fully as I could. My illeostomy was reversed in April 2022.
I'm really open about all of my experiences, and I would love to help in any way I can. It's a big journey, and friendships are a wonderful addition. <3
