Meet & talk to fellow OstoMates 20,316 members

I always have a smile on my face- I love to travel and want to figure out how to continue to make my life fun and exciting. I have an ostomy, I won, it was ostomy or death, I choose to live. Let's figure out what we can do not what we can't do. I also have moments where I feel overwhelmed, I have reached out to some people but I don't like pity, so I keep any insecurities to myself. I have a good sense of humor and I think that really helps keep me on top. You can never have too many friends :)

I was diagnosed with Crohn's at 15 y.o. - I have taken every medication and had every side effect or problem that could arise- In Oct. 2009 I had to have a permanent ileostomy- I don't know if I am in denial or what, but I haven't had to change to much about my life. I work full time in a dental office, I travel, swim, go to the gym, I would love to meet or talk to anyone, sometimes it is nice to know we are not alone... I have some questions, and would love to have people who just get the whole situation.
