Meet & talk to fellow OstoMates 20,168 members

I was a teacher assistant for 17 years, but decided to become a teacher
in 2000. I worked very hard to complete a 4 year degree in 3 years. Due to health concerns, Adhesions & bowel obstructions, I have had to reduce my teaching to 2 mornings a week.
During October I found that I was unable to continue teaching, due to Adhesion Related Disorder (ARD), causing extreme pain and shortness of breath. I'd like to communicate with others suffering from ARD

I come from Tasmania, an island of Australia with a population of half a million people.Tasmania is a beautiful place to live, but I've found that our medical practitioners have not seen the full range of complications that larger cities and states have,
I'm interested in talking to others about sharing information in relation to Ostomy issues. I'd like to participate in with a view to becoming more
educated myself and sharing my 28 years of experience as a person with an ileostomy.
