LATER TODAY I’m scheduled to get my second vaccine shot (Moderna). The first one, four weeks ago, resulted in no reactions whatsoever. The vaccine here is being distributed by the county health department. I was surprised at how efficient and organized they were. Upon arrival the first time, there was a line of cars a mile long, but it moved along rather well. Health Dept. reps were out distributing forms, checking paperwork, verifying ID and that your name was on the appointment list, answering questions, going from car to car, and so all that was accomplished by the time we got to a tented area behind the building. There we handed in our forms and were shunted over to another building where we again got in line to be funneled through an open garage-like area where the shots were being given. You stayed in your car the entire time. After getting the shot, you moved into an exit line which was designed to take the necessary fifteen minutes to be sure no one had a dramatic, immediate negative reaction to the vaccine. Then you were done. All in all, it took seventy minutes. So, tomorrow, unless I’ve lapsed into a coma from the second shot, I’ll update this report.
