Hello HenryM.
Thanks for your thoughts on the subject of politicians. I do not believe that ‘all’ politicians are as you describe, but because politics is largely about power, many bullies are attracted to the profession (like paedophiles are attracted to professions which allow access to children).
A proportion of those who enter the profession for altruistic reasons, seem to succumb to the truism: ‘Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely’.
Of course my own perspective inevitably perceives most politicians as ‘bullies’, or potential bullies.
I have penned so many rhymes with politicians as the subject matter that it is difficult to pick a particular one that exemplifies a concise viewpoint. That said, there are occasions when a politician will behave in such a way that it makes it obvious that they are weasel-worded, devious ‘bullies’. It is at times like these that their fellow bullies rally round to exonerate them from ‘blame’.
One such recent event involved our (now) Home Secretary, Preti Patel who reportedly bullied the civil servants assigned to work with her, and was eventually exonerated by her bully partner- Boris Johnson.
I will let my ranting rhymes of those times tell the rest of the story:
Best wishes

A ‘PRETI’ BULLY.
In many rhymes you’ve seen me tell
of bullies like Preti Patel,
whose character has different sides
behaving like Jekyll and Hyde.
On the one hand they are charming.
Smiling, wiling, while they’re smarming
their way around those whom they like
as this is one part of their psych.
This stance all seems quite genuine,
especially as it’s feminine,
and she is good looking too,
which can distort your point of view.
They show this side to voting folk,
who otherwise would rather choke
than vote for a blatant bully,
if they got to know them fully.
I’ve explained how politicians
in parliamentary renditions
have clearly shown their bullying side,
which in that House, they hardly hide.
They rant and rave like fighting cocks,
thinking that their bullying blocks
the opposition’s point of view,
and we all know this is not new.
These bullies are drawn to this life,
where they think they can impose strife
on those for whom they have disdain,
and therefore, wish to impose pain.
Preti thinks she is hard done by,
and maybe even wonders why
her victims have called her a bully
when they’ve got to know her fully.

A ‘PRETI’ BULLY 2.
Preti Patel has so much more
bullying within her store,
for she has learned from those before
how to abuse the rules and poor.
Her predecessor, ‘Maggie’ was
more of a bully, just because
she managed to get to the top,
then her bullying did not stop.
I always felt that was a pity,
just like I do right now with Preti,
for when these people get some power
they will try to make folks cower.
For anyone who is observant
will see that the civil ‘servant’
will be treated like a slave,
as this is how bullies behave.
They will demand their slave to be
a subservient detainee,
with no opinions of their own
and take their lot without a moan.
People like Preti can’t work ‘with’,
because they have more take than ‘give’.
They must have ‘servants’ working ‘for’,
then they can bully them some more.
By naming civil-‘servants’ thus,
makes bullies think they should not fuss
when they are ordered and cajoled
subjugated and controlled.
They’re not nice folks to work aside,
and so, a dislike builds inside,
until these ‘servants’ will rebel
against bullies like Preti Patel.

A ‘PRETI’ BULLY 3.
Preti Patel exemplifies
so many things that we despise,
for she will bully, then will try
to disavow and to deny.
I think it is fair to assume
she will not bully those with whom
she has a close affinity
or some consanguinity.
With these people she will be kind,
maybe because she has in mind
that these will be relied upon
when all her other friends are gone.
Her family and her closest friends
are people to whom she sends
all her kind thoughts and wishes too,
so, influence their point of view.
Plus, anyone who she thinks might
show her in a favoured light,
or assist her to expedite
her ambitions, she won’t sleight.
But people she looks down upon,
such as the poor and woebegone,
will see a very different side,
and this is one she tries to hide.
She tries to say, it is her way
to get things done, so that she may
claim the moral high ground and
hopes that others understand.
But victims understand this fully
as the hallmarks of a bully,
and they do not think she is nice
to try to make them pay her price.

A ‘PRETI’-BULLY 4 (EXONERATED)
Before I try to write this rhyme,
I should point out that at this time,
there is an investigation
into bullying allegations.
Preti Patel has been accused
of bullying, as she abused
her position as politician,
browbeating folks into submission.
She’s been accused of this before,
so, no surprise there is some more.
But in this rhyme, I’d like to guess
the outcome of the ‘due-process’.
Of course, they will investigate,
examine and adjudicate,
on whether Preti broke the rules
by bullying civil-servant fools.
But I predict, as she’ a toff,
there’s little doubt, she’ll get let off,
and she will be exonerated
in the way she operated.
Most of the general public knew,
that once the accusations grew,
the PM would support her fully
to deny she was a bully.
So, by astute manipulation,
he could skew the investigation
and she would seem as white as snow
for that’s the way that these things go.
Thus, I guess, that Preti Patel
will emerge from this quite well,
and victims of her bully reign
will have to suffer with their pain.
