Hi Rae , that's the last thing I wanted , I hope I didn't come off as a bully !!!?? . I met my share of Bullies in the form of Priests , Christian Brothers and Nuns , humliliation and bullying was their specialty . Suggestion that we adjust our conversation and topics or even apoligize to suit our ( by choice !! ) other participants is excessive unless our exchanges are obscene or intolerant in some way . We Irish can be a bit straightforward and not afraid to express and stand by an opinion . When I write seriously I choose my words carefully to express my thoughts as clearly as possible . ( Living with a Lawyer for many years will do that ! ) . I thought I was polite but firm but not rude or abusive in any way IMHO 🙂. Intolerance by purportedly religious people is the worst kind of intolerance .
I have a relative who Loves Trump whereas I detest the Insect !! When I go visit I avoid the topic because I knew it would not be a productive conversation and I respect the fact that I'm in his house .
If I'm with a group of friends having a chat and the neighbor is listening over the fence .
" Do you think you could change the tone of your conversation , I'm beginning to feel offended and I'm afraid I might be shocked if I keep listening ...I need a Safe Space ." My suggestion would be to go back to watching the Soaps and not eavesdrop if you din't like what you hear and do not want to join in ..
I dislike Fox News and their type of " news" but I will listen sometimes just to get a handle on how other people use their form of " logic " to justify the unjustiafiable because I'm curious I'm curious about people who do not think as I think .
To everyone , listen in , join in , share and add youŕ voice . If our language or topics are inappropriate then the Moderator will do their job .
All the best ang Slainte ..Eamon ☘☘
