I don’t judge anyone, if you need to identify as a MOM today, so be it. I’m sure you’ll go back to being a guy tomorrow since being a mom is way more than a guy can handle on any given day except today.

Happy Mother’s Day !

I recently sold my house and moved to my mother's house which had been lying vacant for some years . So many happy memories associated with every room . Mothers are very special people. It is right next to the American School which still has an American principal and teachers. Every entry to it is guarded 24/7 by armed guards. I have my own chaps and Vigor and Fredo the German Shepherds. Happy Mother's Day.

No, you already tried to say you were Jodie somewhere, you’re not stealing Mother’s Day. You can have Father’s Day with your vulture babies. 😁

But if you are going to say “Hey I’m Jodie” around Mother’s Day I would say you get the joy of watching my daughter for a whole day, but you wouldn’t survive. I say half a day and you could have help b/c I still don’t think you’d survive.

I was holding a young woman I used to mentor yesterday as she cried at a wedding reception because she had a miscarriage. It’s a hard day for a lot of women. I didn’t go anywhere except my Grandma’s on Mother’s Day when I couldn’t have kids. Thinking of you today and sending extra hugs 💜

Just in case anyone forgot what it’s like to have younger children around on Mother’s Day… this is the slanted ceiling of the main stairway. I thought my daughter did it… but she swears it’s not her handwriting 😂 and I tried to reach this and even on tiptoes I couldn’t and she’s still shorter than me. With the way my son can climb the walls in the hallway, it would make more sense to blame him and he’s taller than me 😆 Somehow my kids think their graffiti is ok if it says ‘love’ in it 🙄

Knowing fully well that two pedigreed male German Shepherds may not live amicably under the same roof, I tried it anyway. They fought fiercely and only a bucket full of water separated them. It is better to keep a dog and a bitch ( that is what they are called officially) and you cannot mate them if they are from the same litter. Will try once again and see if it works out.

Are your current ones from the same litter?

No, I wouldn't do that, nor is it a good idea to cross different breeds, unless you are Mr. Dobermann who developed the Doberman Pinscher. The genetic faults of each parent stay with the pups. Macy's the department store in NYC kept Doberman's in a cage on the roof and let them loose at night to prevent theft. One day they fought over a piece of meat and when their keeper intervened they turned on him. He was lucky to get away without serious injury, he could have also lost his life. A guard dog is lethal and a huge responsibility. You will be amazed to know that some awful guard dog folks train them to be vicious by locking them in a dark room and throwing things at them at random hours all through the night! On the other hand, Johnnie Walkers whisky warehouse in Scotland containing millions of dollars' worth of goodies is guarded by Geese! They are excellent guards too. Best wishes.

When my 2 males- mostly different breed mixes- I call them Texas specials- and from rescues- started having interpersonal behavioral issues, I decided to adopt a female, also a rescue. I may have waited to tell my husband I had adopted her until her transport date was set 🫣. But she loves him and her presence  stopped most of boys’ behavioral issues. Usually I don’t have to do more than stand up or use a different tone of voice. Sometimes I just set a spray bottle out even if it doesn’t haven’t water in it and my 100lb male doesn’t get into any trouble if it’s out, even if no one is holding it 😆. My friend adopted a Dutch Shepherd- she flunked police dog school b/c she wouldn’t bite. So now she’s getting training to be a personal protection dog. She’s really smart. I came back a 2nd time to see her and was wearing completely different clothes down to my coat and she still checked the side of the pocket I had treats in the previous time for her. I’m looking into fostering right now since I’m on an adoption ban for about 7 years (so I’m told), but really just want to work with puppies because I think they’d fit in easier with my existing pack.

I've had 2 Doberman rescues and they were absolutely fantastic dogs!  After the second one died unexpectedly of dilated cardiomyopathy, I looked into it.  Turns out it's a very wide spread genetic disorder brought on by unscrupulous breeders who only want to sell puppies and don't care about the welfare of the dogs later in life, or of the feelings of the owners.  Won't go that route again with another Doby, but I did contact the important people in the Doberman world and gave them a piece of my mind.  Any dog can be made vicious, it's all about how they are raised.  Dobermans just look the part better than most.  Beautiful animals they certainly are.
