About
Hi I'm Andy, I've had Ulcerative Colitis since 2009, I was diagnosed in 2012 however. The long list of medicine is running out for me & I will sooner or later need surgery for a stoma, either colostomy or full blown ileo.I'm a decent person, I'm quite open about myself & I like making friends when it happens. I enjoy watching movies, rock music playing my guitar, spending time with my dog Rizzo & just generally relaxing with my friends and family.
Having Colitis has been a challenge for me as it has for everyone else that has it. I've had my ups and downs (some pretty low downs) but I try to stay as positive as I can. I was lucky enough to have been born into a country that has such a thing as the NHS, I don't know where I'd be without it. I have the best family in the world & a handful of close friends who are more like the brothers and sisters I never had.
But I've joined this site because as supportive and loving as my friends and family are there are some aspects of living with a thing like Inflammatory Bowel Disease that they simply can't understand. I used to know a guy who had Crohns but we fell out of touch a few years back, so I don't know anyone who has UC/Crohns. So I would like to talk to folks who might know exactly what I've been through & what might be in store for me in my future. There are times where I can feel quite alone & altogether rather scared, so I hope to get some kind of supportive friendship out of this & maybe give some back in return.
