I had never heard of Crohn's disease until I was diagnosed with this ailment at the age of 25. In 2018, after several years of medication no longer working to keep the disease in remission, I had my large intestine removed and replaced with an ileostomy. Having an ileostomy has been overwhelming, with both positive and negative experiences. I seek input from people who are experiencing similar emotions from this life-altering surgery.
