I am a 50 year old Colorectal Cancer survivor with a permanent colostomy. I previously had an ileostomy which was reversed, lived without one for just over a year and had to have the permanent colostomy due to issues with the reversal. I was diagnosed in 2011 and have lived with an ostomy since, minus the one year without. During my first surgery in 2011, I ended up keeping in contact with my nurse after I was discharged and we ended up getting married and are still happily married today. She has been a great source of knowledge, comfort and general TLC. We have both learned a lot through this process and are still learning today, I figured I would create another profile on here just to reach out to anyone else who has any questions or advice, etc. If there is anyone that is going through, or planning to go through similar situations, feel free to reach out with any questions. I am also looking for fellow musicians in my area, I play guitar and sing, classic and southern rock, country, blues, etc. If you play guitar, keys, drums, and are looking to jam, let me know.
