Retired in 2019 after 25 years in IT management. Moved from WA state to TX in 2019 to be near my son, grandson, and family. Had diverticulitis and sepsis, then a colostomy in late 2019. May 2020 had an unsuccessful reversal surgery and ended up with a lot of complications and now have an ileostomy. Since this is all pretty new to me I have questions that come up frequently and would love to be able to ask actual ostomy patients rather than physicians. They are very knowledgeable, for sure, but lack the kind of knowledge you gain by actually living with an ostomy. Id love to be able to ask questions in this forum, and get to know others. Since I moved here in mid-2019 I have been in the hospital for 6 months (3 separate "events") so haven't had much chance to meet people here. I'm still recovering physically from the last hospitalization so am not out and about that much, especially with all the COVID craziness going on. Looking forward to making some virtual friends here! Not looking for anything romantic at this time but who knows what can happen :)
