About
Had complete colectomy, leaving the rectum, and ileostomy on 12/29/2022 after coming down with Clostridioides difficile (C-diff) which left me critically septic. Pneumonia and pancreatitis kept me in the hospital for 3 months. Needless to say, I am quite happy to still be here. Especially given that my surgeon figured my chances as 50/50.

I am 75 years old (as of 2023) and have been retired since 2018. I spent the final 30+ years of my professional life in the computer storage industry. I am a military veteran and served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970, including a year in Vietnam (1968).

I am married with 3 sons, but no grandchildren on the horizon. The price one pays for having children at near 50. But, I am bound and determined to wait them out. :-)

I am here to learn about others' experiences with ostomies and reversal surgeries and to get to know others that can relate to my own experience and offer info from my own experience.
