About
Medical stuff: Bowel disease since I was 8. Colostomate of 15 years (10 of them permanent) due to a combination of SRU Syndrome and a failed Delormes Procedure operation. And for added fun points on top I caught MRSA in the rear wound which did major damage. Ah well, I'm still here and that's all I care about.

Hi!! Nice to see you. Hmm, all about me.. Im initially shy but soon warm up and like to think I'm caring and very loyal. Im not a raver by any means, but I enjoy a social drink as much as anyone else.

I guess I also still have a wee childish streak running though me as I enjoy things like Wallace and Gromit, Avenue Q, and the Muppets etc. I'm a fan of some US Drama TV Shows, Documentaries, as well as films.

I enjoy many types of books and authors from crime, to horror, to fantasy to classic - all the fault of my Eng Lit & Eng Lang student days. I love my Kindle...

The Hobbit was the first "proper" book I ever read as a kid, and that experience stuck with me forever so fantasy definitely counts as my favourite genre.

I've just discovered the "Kingkiller Chronicles" - book 1, "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. Also like George R R Martin, Tolkien (obviously) and legal thrillers.

I'm particularly fond of audiobooks lately - dont know why. At first I think it was pure idleness on my side when feeling rough, but now its because if you get a really good narrator and voice artist recording the book it can be a fantastic experience. Speaking of audiobooks I'm also a fan of "Graphic Audio" full cast dramatisations which in themselves have introduced me to many authors and genres I might not have read myself in book format.

I like to design websites, and in 1998 I created a website community for ppl whom have ostomy surgery and related bowel conditions. It was one of the first of it's kind and is still going strong. W00T! I'm not going to spam the URL in this profile though as that would be very bad netiquette. I was nominated for Volunteer of the Year in 2009 by the UK ostomy support charity Ostomy Lifestyle. I didn't win though as people often say the nomination alive was a huge treat and a welcome morale boost. :)

Worked in banking. Currently "on the sick" due to a botched operation, as mentioned at the top, and am itching to get back to work but that wont be anytime soon I think sadly.

Music: Sarah McLachlan, Bryan Adams, Blondie, Del Amitri, Avenue Q OST.

My favourite song in the whole wide world ever is Sarah McLachlan's "Possession (Piano Version)". It gives me chills down my spine; Such an achingly beautiful song which is made all the more powerful for the unplugged-esque Piano-only rendition.

Wow, you're still with me and reading this? Awesome. Thank you! Hope you have a good day, and feel free to say "hi!" or wave-a-flag/morse code/smoke signals/telepathic prod or even just a msg would be nice. :-)

PS: As much as I enjoy some Star Trek on the box, my nickname on forums does not refer to Star Trek!
