About
Hello. It has been almost 4 years since my surgery. I have an Ileostomy. I had the C_Diff infection that ate my colon with in 1 1/2 months starting back in June of 2012. By mid July my colon ruptured while at the emergency room. 2 hours later I was in surgery to save my life. The doctors said that there was nothing left of my colon. It was all damaged by the infection. Didn't think I was that sick. But I am so thankful for all the staff of Aurora Hospital in Wisconsin. The whole staff was there to make sure I was ok and even helped me to mentally understand what just happened.
I connected with people here shortly after I got feeling better and was about to go back to work after 3 months of down time. I want to thank everyone who helped me to understand more and accept more of my day to day stuff I had to deal with. I found that "Just for Laughs" part of this site was where I learned to laugh again. Please keep the laughs going.
I now live in Dubuque Iowa. I am used to dealing with my ileostomy bags and all the hassle that goes along with everyday life. I work full time as a night auditor at a hotel. My co-workers are great with me when the unexpected blow out happens. Life is back to normal and again I want to thank everyone who helped me to be me again.
I joined a fitness club. I thought I would have problems with having the bag. I have not had any issues with it and I'm not scared to push myself to do more. I have already lost a pound, and I'm feeling better about myself. I hope to lose 20 pounds by April. When my oldest daughter gets married. I know that I can do more then I thought.
