TIME AND MOTION.

Once upon a yester-year

toileting would hold no fear

I'd sit and let my motion fall

and it would take no time at all.

Into the water stools would slide

so there would be no smells to hide.

a wipe with paper seemed to clean

and that is what a crap would mean.

But when I had an ostomy

then all of that would change for me.

Gone forever were the days

of those rapid crapping ways.

At first I had to wear a bag

which, when full might burst or sag.

With all that muck both thick and thin

the wafers came unstuck from skin.

All the time that I was spending

cleaning up seemed never-ending.

The stream of faeces from my tum

took much more time than from my bum.

I am afraid to my dismay

this time was spread throughout the day.

When looking forward I could see

time spent like this was not for me.

Accumulated bits of time

cleaning up the shit and slime,

when this began to irritate

then I began to irrigate.

Now all that time's used in one go

my life is mine to use and grow.

I've laid to rest my bad emotions

and made the best of time and motions.
